IT Software Developer Job Description
This role will provide maintenance support for a variety of applications in the Special Billing and Metering areas with a primary focus on application reliability and performance. Requires the ability to develop efficient code and apply software engineering principles to application development.
* Performs coding, reviews of project deliverables and is accountable for the quality of products deployed to the production environment.
* Resolves production problems and participates in on-call rotation.
* Demonstrates an ability to research and analyze incomplete or conflicting data to resolve problems.
* Explains and documents resolutions.
* Coordinates planned changes to production environments in order to minimize business impact.
* Keeps the customer as the focal point during decision-making.
* Must be willing and able to adjust to multiple demands and changing priorities
* Participate in requirements review to understand the functionality and to ensure that application performance, security, error handling, and monitoring requirements are addressed.
* Coordinates with database analysts, system administrators and the Change Implementation Team during operational and project activities.
3-6 Month Contract Possible Hire Work Hours / Travel
Requirements:
8-5 M-F; OT, as needed; limited travel
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree Experience
Requirements:
This position is typically achieved with 3 or more years of related experience. Candidates have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

* SQL (Oracle and/or SqlServer), Database Theory C#.NET, VB.NET, ASP.NET (MS Visual Studio) Windows Services.
* Strong technical and analytical ability.
* Ability to produce quality documentation using MS Office Suite and Visio.
* Ability to work independently.
* Strong oral and written communications skills.
* N-tiered application architectures.
* Desired skills and experience.
* JAVA, Web Methods, VB6.
* Experience with a CVS repository client.
* Experience working with vendor application software products.
