Description:
Team Leader/Project Manager SUMMARY Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of team and designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of team and projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducts miscellaneous marketing functions such as responding to Requests for Proposal's (RFP's) and Requests for Qualification's (RFQ's), giving presentations, distributing promotional information, maintaining client relations, and similar duties for promotion and development of new business with present and new clients.
• Formulates professional services fee estimates and develops and prepares proposals for management review and approval.
• For each assigned project, reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of projects and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure each project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
• Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
• Reviews and approves project billing reports for final approval by management.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• Conducts periodic and final quality control and review of construction documents, reports, studies, Opinions of Probable Construction Cost, and other engineering products, and presents to management for their approval
• Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs various general administrative tasks and functions such as compilation of historical project data
• Develops standard forms and procedures for review and approval by management
• Performs general planning and scheduling functions
• Develops coordinated technical standards for review and approval by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 1 to 5 mechanical department employees in the project team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:

• Planning, assigning, and directing work
• Appraising performance
• Rewarding and disciplining employees
• Addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Coordinates with electrical department employees in the project team to ensure engineering quality goals and project requirements and delivery schedules are met.

Salary:
$65k - $110K depending on experience
REQUIREMENTS:
• Professional Engineer’s License
• MS Mechanical Engineer
• Architectural, MEP, HVAC design experience.
• 10 years of experience in similar position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's degree (M.A.) in engineering or equivalent; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Professional Engineer's (PE) license. Certified In Plumbing Engineering (CIPE), Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer proficiency utilizing MS Windows, Word, Excel, Project, Access; Carrier HAP, E20; AutoCadd; and other miscellaneous vendor equipment selection and design programs. Thorough understanding of industry standard forms of agreement and contract administration. Capability and expertise to develop coordinated specifications, details, and construction documents.
SOCIETIES AND MEMBERSHIPS:
American Society of Heating Refrigeration Air-Conditioning Engineering (ASHRAE), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) membership preferred.
