America Responds With Love

Job Location: Nationwide
America Responds With Love® welcomes you to consider volunteering your time to help our non-profit organization help people truly in need throughout the United States.

Environment Program Volunteer Positions

Respond With Love Employment Enhancement Volunteer Community Service Project

Goals:
To encourage 30 non-profit organizations and governmental entities to participate in the Respond With Love® Environment Program of America Responds With Love® by planting flowers in gardens in Louisiana during Year 2009. These Respond With Love® Gardens would be designed to help enhance the environment.

Concept:
To utilize flower bulbs and other flowering plants that are donated to America Responds With Love to help enhance the environment of the United States. The flower bulbs and other flowering plants are considered excess inventory and would likely be thrown away. Instead, they will be planted in public gardens.

Examples of Respond With Love Gardens include public gardens in such communities as Valley Forge, Pennsylvania; Lucedale, Mississippi; and Reading, Pennsylvania.

Each participating non-profit organization and governmental entity will have to meet certain responsibilities to each receive flower bulbs from America Responds With Love.

The flower bulbs can be planted in Respond With Love Gardens in public parks, schools, community centers, senior citizen centers, libraries, police departments, fire companies, ambulance facilities, hospitals, cemeteries, shelters, and other sites controlled by governmental entities and non-profit organizations as well as at sites that enhance the local neighborhood. The Respond With Love Gardens can be planted on lands along sidewalks, highways, railroads, and other transit lines to enhance the local neighborhoods.

Participating organizations will be expected to pay a program service fee of $600 to $1,000 to cover the related program and logistics costs, plant the flower bulbs in their community, provide maintenance of the new Respond With Love Gardens, and cooperate with America Responds With Love to highlight the enhancement of the environment to the general public.
