Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for a Director of Strategic Sourcing to be responsible for development/execution of the company sourcing strategy that reduces total cost while meeting customer expectations for quality and delivery and providing leadership for and development of the sourcing function.

Develop and execute the company sourcing strategy to optimize capital investment while meeting customer expectations for quality, cost and delivery.
Continuously analyze supply sources and identify, prioritize and execute action plans to drive opportunities for improved, cost, quality and/or delivery.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity of sourcing standards/requirements and provide insights on cost impacts and current/potential alternatives.
Lead supplier identification, certification, negotiations and vendor relations.
Identify potential cost savings developing and overseeing budget, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations.
Develop and implement goals and action plans that align with Supply Chain and other business partners to achieve business objectives: safety, quality, cost, service, people.
Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and people through effective assessment of capabilities and development/implementation of strategies to improve them.
Insure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures. (e.g., safety, quality, finance, human resources).
Insure effective collaboration within Supply Chain, with product creation and with all other business partners.
Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions and effectively partnering with other stakeholders.
Manage, empower and develop an effective functional team through appropriate selection, communication, coaching, training, reward/recognition and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Ensure appropriate continuity plans are in place for critical components, materials and finished goods.

Maintain Corporate Sourcing Policy and associated the QSPs.
Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSCs electronic communication software, ERP and other systems.
Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.
Uphold and role model Red Wing Shoe Companys core values, policies and procedures.
Safeguard the assets of the Company, treating all technical developments, operational data, information on salaries and wages, customer lists, and similar data as required.
Comply with all governmental laws and regulations which pertain to the responsibilities of the position.
Assure Company awareness of industry standards and new/innovative practices by establishing and maintaining strong industry networks and continuous learning.
Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.

Internal: Planning/Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, Product Creation, Quality, Logistics, Sales, Marketing, Business Technology, Engineering, LEAN, Business Services, Brands, Human Resources.
External: Vendors, Suppliers, Regulatory Agencies

Bachelors degree from four-year college or university and seven to ten years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills
Exceptional influencing and negotiating skills
Excellent Analytical Skills
Strong computer skills
ERP systems expertise
Manufacturing experience (footwear industry preferred)
Strategic Sourcing experience.
Drive for results and superior execution
MBA or other advanced degree preferred

APICS certification a plus

Frequent standing, sitting, walking, seeing, listening, talking, key boarding
Occasional climbing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching

Primarily located in an office environment
Frequent domestic and international travel Occasional visits to Suppliers
