Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for an Operations Manager to provide general management and strategic leadership for all aspects of manufacturing operations at Plant 2 in Red Wing, MN to drive achievement of business objectives and continuous improvement of people and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement plant 2 manufacturing goals and action plans assuring alignment within US manufacturing, Supply Chain and other business partners to achieve business objectives: safety, quality, cost, delivery and people.
Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing system/process resources through effective assessment of capabilities and maximization of resources to improve current processes and procure externally where appropriate to achieve objectives.
Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing team through effective assessment of capabilities, development of internal resources and leveraging external sourcing where needed to achieve objectives.
Insure compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures. (e.g., safety, quality, finance, human resources).
Within the scope of plant 2 manufacturing, ensure on time, on brief, on cost and on quality production of new and improved footwear products.
Drive employee engagement, effective communications and positive employee/labor relations.
Insure effective collaboration with other functions in Plant 2, other manufacturing locations, product creation and other business functions.
Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Ensure effective manufacturing engagement in research and development of new/improved processes and machinery.
Ensure effectiveness of the staff through communications; salary administration; coaching/counseling; monitoring and appraising job results; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; selection, training and development; and maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role model and uphold Red Wing Shoe Companys core values and policies.
Continuously develop leadership, technical and business skills.
Represent Red Wing Shoe Company within the community.
Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.
Internal: Safety, Quality, Human Resources, Finance, Planning/Procurement, Logistics, Product Creation,
Engineering, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Business Technology, SB Foot, Senior Business Leaders
External: Suppliers, External Manufacturers, Community
Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university and seven to ten years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
