Were looking for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to research, develop and implement the necessary tools, processes, machines and equipment to manufacture footwear. Solve organizational and production related problems efficiently using the fundamentals of design, Lean principles, engineering /quality tools, data analysis and technology. Manage and implement process improvement projects

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide thought leadership for process improvements and provide technical assistance to operating departments to implement changes.
Organize, coordinate, lead and/or participate in process improvement efforts to support Lean teams including completion of associated engineering changes/projects with the overarching objective of driving continuous improvement and manufacturing cost reductions.
Manage external suppliers as they are being utilized on specific projects to assure achievement of agreed upon objectives.
Identify opportunities to standardize products and processes and to initiate plans that drive improved performance.
Develop measures of success, track performance, communicate results, develop action plans to improve.

OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSCs electronic communication software.
Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.
Uphold Red Wing Shoe Companys core values.
Complete other duties as assigned by your manager.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs.
Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handbook.

CUSTOMERS (Internal and External)
Internal: Operations Department Supervisors and Managers, Engineering and Maintenance, Quality, Safety, Human Resources, Finance, Business Technology, Product Development, New Product Integration, hourly associates.
External: Suppliers, vendors and customers.

Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial. or Manufacturing Engineering from a four-year college or university (or equivalent) and five to seven years related experience.
Excellent communication and people skills required to successfully work with all levels of employees including hourly associates, senior management and vendors.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel). Use these tools and apply this knowledge to solve manufacturing and operation problems.
The position requires varied manufacturing, process and material experience along with a strong general engineering background, mechanical aptitude and practical application.
A firm grasp of Design for Manufacturing principles, process control and statistical techniques, 2D and 3D CAD/CAM and PLCs

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Minitab experience
Microsoft Project experience
Lean manufacturing principles

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge and understanding of material control and ERP systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Need to have the ability to spend extended time each day in the factory environment.

TRAVEL
Up to 25% or as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
High percentage of time spent in factory or warehouse environment
Occasional to moderate travel required
