Try this on for size: The General Operations Manager will manage and lead all Manufacturing functions in the Plant to be consistent with Corporate and Operational Goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and facilitate continuous improvement planning and implementation to improve manufacturing performance measures.
Responsible for the on-time production of quality footwear consistent with customer expectations by operating within the RWSC quality system.
Ensure technical and engineering support for continuous manufacturing improvements. Implement process improvements, which drive cost reductions and manufacturing efficiencies.
Responsible for managing plant per Team Member handbook.
Responsible for the introduction of New Products into manufacturing.
Maintains continuity among corporate area, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Controls expenses by gathering and submitting information scheduling expenditures; monitoring variances; implementing corrective actions.
Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing plans.
Insure a clean and safe work environment.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSCs electronic communication software.
Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.
Uphold Red Wing Shoe Companys core values.
Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs.
Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handbook.
CUSTOMERS:
Internal: Logistics, Mfg. Supervisors, Ind. Engineering, Mfg. Engineering, Tech Center, HR and Finance.
External: Other Manufacturers, Suppliers, Vendors
Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
BA Degree with Five to Seven years related experience / training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Full knowledge of Manufacturing required
Minimum of 5 years management experience
Recommended knowledge of the Footwear Industry
