Requirements
SAIC's Space and Geospatial Intelligence Business Unit currently has an opening in Columbia, MD for a Database Administrator.
Candidates MUST currently possess an active TS/SCI With Lifestyle Polygraph security clearance.
Experience Required:
•At least 3 years experience as a Database Administrator
•Oracle experience
•Knowledge of formal test processes associated with large DoD development efforts (such as ACAT 1 programs)
•Experience in Sybase IQ configuration and performance optimization
•Experience with backend scripting in Perl and shell scripts
•Experience managing large data volumes, to include space management and projecting long-term requirements
Successful candidate will have experience administering all facets of large relational databases. The individual selected will be responsible for administration of a new (modernization) database component for a large operational system used by over 12,000 analysts world-wide. The individual will work with the development and test team initially as the system is tested and delivered, and will assume operational support for the database at IOC.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Performance tuning, database administration and monitoring;
• Development and modification of non-database program components, such as scripts;
• Collaboration with the development team for post-IOC database enhancements; and
• Documentation of code and support processes.
