Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager and the Director of Process Engineering, the person in this position will develop and drive the manufacturing processes through continuous improvement to deliver and sustain profitable growth. The fundamental task will be to influence change and provide the direction and guidance for the team to ensure that goals are met for critical manufacturing components.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 3 years prior process engineering experience (5 - 10 preferred)
* Prior experience with plastic extrusion, printing, and converting of thin, shrinkable substrates a plus
* Knowledge of statistics
* Proven ability to understand and perform designed experiments, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma
* Proven ability to energize and direct group efforts to achieve KPIs
* Proven ability to lead process improvement/cost-savings projects from conception through implementation
* Good understanding of team based self-managing principles
* BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science required
* MS in engineering discipline preferred
Other Requirements:
* Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to spend the majority of each day's time on the floor supporting production personnel
* Able to assimilate and understand new technologies (strong technical aptitude)
* Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision
