This person will work out of their home and travel throughout the state of Illinois south of I-80.
Job Description:
Primary Purpose
Accomplishes the Marketing department objectives by marketing Society's products and services to an independent agency force in an assigned territory. This includes reaching the assigned production and profitability goals by the management of the independent agency force in that assigned territory in accordance with departmental and company guidelines and standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Assists underwriting in retaining current book and generates new profitable business growth through assigned agents.
- Develops and strengthens our relationships with our current agency force, Society employees, and associations as needed.
- Ensures superior customer service by providing follow up on any function or service we provide.
- Resolves customer service problems by listening to each side, rationalizing decisions, and communicating with each party as needed. Assists in collecting on past due agency accounts as needed.
- Reviews assigned agency force for production and profitability. Terminates and prospects agencies as needed to achieve production and profitability goals.
- Represents company at trade shows and conventions and manages leads received at these events.
- Assists agents with risk selection and marketing of company products/services to ensure the right decisions are being made and the information regarding Society is available.
- Reviews pending quotes and applications. Provides follow up with agency force on quotes and quote activity.
- Gathers information on the competition from agent and department of insurance to ensure company is providing the best products/services possible. Makes recommendations to management regarding this information and work flow as needed.
- Trains and informs agency personnel on company procedures, products, services, automation, and underwriting guidelines.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- Three plus years professional experience in Property/Casualty insurance, working with independent agents.
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record (based on Society Insurance's guidelines).
Preferred
- Five plus years of insurance experience working with the independent agency system.
- 3-5 years marketing experience.
- Commercial underwriting experience.
- CPCU or CIC designation.
