Description
Primary Purpose

Manages the Premium Audit functions by supervising, planning, organizing, leading, controlling and carrying out decisions, all in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Develops Premium Audit staff by coaching, mentoring, training, and disciplining employees; planning and appraising job results.
  • Maintains Premium Audit staff by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Provides quality Premium Auditing service by establishing and enforcing quality and customer service standards; analyzing and solving difficult quality and customer service problems; recommending and implementing system improvements.
  • Completes Premium Auditing operations by assigning and monitoring work.
  • Ensures accurate identification and evaluation of insureds operations, payrolls, gross sales and related exposures.
  • Prepares Premium Audit staff to accomplish job results by developing and conducting insurance and auditing training.
  • Completes necessary administrative work by (including, but not limited to) approving time cards on a bi-weekly basis; approving PTO and flextime requests as appropriate; completing yearly salary administration; operating within departmental and company guidelines and standards.
  • Develops and implements Premium Auditing strategic goals and services by gathering pertinent information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes to meet market needs.
  • Maintains working knowledge of corporate, competitive, territorial, and regulatory issues as respects Premium Auditing, by attending workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking industry practices.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Premium Auditing field OR Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in the P & C industry.
  • Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record (based on Society Insurances guidelines).

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years experience in the Premium Auditing field.
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience in the P & C industry.
  • Coursework in Accounting and/or Premium Auditing such as but not limited to the Associate in Premium Auditing (APA) designation.
  • Documented mentoring of other staff persons.
