Description:
Sunoco, Inc., an independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products in Tulsa, Oklahoma, currently has an opening for a Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer.
Duties:
Improve reliability of fixed equipment used throughout the refinery by providing technical solutions to ensure mechanical integrity, reliability, safety and environmental integrity. Provide day-to-day technical support that ensures continuous improvements to the function of the refinery operating assets. Take ownership of preventive and predictive maintenance programs and perform special technical assignments as required. Assemble project teams to develop cost effective, optimum solutions for complex and broadly defined projects to meet refinery objectives. Conduct preliminary engineering for detailed scope development, cost estimates, schedule, AFE requests, etc. for proposed projects. Manage approved projects within cost and schedule.
Required:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Must have effective interpersonal and communications skills (written and oral); strong organizing and planning skills; problem solving and analytical skills; and computer literacy. Must be a team player who is self-motivating; with a willingness to provide field guidance as well as administrative supervision.
Preferred:
Five years' engineering experience, preferably in a petrochemical plant. Knowledge of refinery practices, API mechanical standards, and OSHA 1910 Mechanical Intregrity requirements. Ability to communicate technology, decisions, and recommendations to peers, supervisors, and subordinates. Training and experience in root cause failure analysis preferred.
