Description
Works with the Manufacturing Engineering team at the Tulsa Facility in developing and integrating manufacturing and tooling plan requirements for wing components. Responsible for providing manufacturing engineering representation by developing the manufacturing plan, tooling plan, performing and documenting manufacturing producibility analyses, developing and improving manufacturing and processes. Responsible for supporting the development and assembly of wing components, develop standard processes, troubleshoot, and perform a liaison function. Capture, document and act upon lessons learned and infuse new technology into this area. Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams. Develops tooling, interchangeability and replacement, and functional test plans. Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, manufacturing bills of material. Communicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts. Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues and production and postproduction problems. Maintains configuration control of the manufacturing build plan.
Position Requirements
Position requires work in technical and/or administrative capacity across program, functional, and organizational boundaries and levels. Excellent communication, presentation, project management, analytical, business, decision making, and team-building skills are a must. Must be a self starter and be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with the ability to transition between different work types and roles. Must have a positive attitude and be computer proficient. Knowledge of fabrication, assembly and integration of structures and tooling concepts. A thorough knowledge of composite bonding techniques and processes is required. Ability to determine the preferred process, assist in developing the design concept and direct the manufacture of structural assemblies.
Educational Requirements
Requires educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers (Aerospace, Mechanical or equivalent) as listed on the ABET web site and typically a minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering classification.
