Description
Successful candidate for this position may work in any one of three different areas of Materials and Process Engineering at the Tulsa Facility:
1. Metalugical - This position is responsible for performing material and processing engineering tasks related to fabrication of aircraft metallis details and assembly of metallic structures with aircraft fasteners and fastening systems.
2. Chemical Processing and Corrosion Prevention - This position is responsible for performing material and processing engineering tasks related to chemical processing and corrosion preventive finishes of aircraft structure.
3. Composites - This position is responsible for performing material and processing engineering tasks related to composite materials and processing for aircraft structure.
Responsibilities for all areas of materials and process expertise include the creation and maintenance of Engineering specifications and procedures, evaluation of new or revised materials and processes for production, providing technical assistance and drawing/specification interpretation to manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering Liason, Manufacturing Engineering and Subcontractors, and the investigation of discrepant parts, assemblies, and/or processes and providing corrective action. Develops solutions to technical problems and applies basic engineering and scientific principles.
Position Requirements
The knowledge and ability to interact with stakeholders in production, design, and repair processes. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, act decisively and demonstrate innovation and resourcefulness. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CATIA is a plus.
Educational Requirements
Required educational credentials meeting the classification standards for engineers (Aerospace, Mechanical or equivalent) as listed on the ABET web site.
