Description:
The following are the Basic Qualifications for this position: 4-6 years experience directly related to this position. This position is in direct support of the Essex operation. Job Description: The selected candidate will perform network engineering functions associated with the Cyber Testing Center for the Mission Systems/Essex/IAS department, in support of multiple customers. Responsibilities to include planning, evaluating, and implementing complex network systems, architectures, and engineering applications across various WAN transport technologies including ATM, MPLS, or IP-based networks that support world-wide operations. Individuals will be responsible to ensure all engineering and system installations meet the guidelines of best practices, security requirements, and the intent of the requirement. He/She will participate in the updating and maintenance of all documentation. Provide technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design, using implementation techniques and tools to determine the most efficient solution to network problems. The selected candidates must be proficient in the developing comprehensive and detailed drawings, using Microsoft Visio, to document end-to-end and circuit path for maintaining both Wide-Area networks (WANs) and Local-Area networks. (LANs)

The following are the basic qualifications for this position: bachelors degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of specialized experience or equivalent with comparable experience in the following: Cisco/Juniper routers/switches, PIX, CyberGuard and Sidewinder firewalls and KVM switches, TCP/IP, UDP Multicast, OSFF, Various WAN network mediums, Legacy network systems such as SONET, LightWave ATM and TDM multiplexer network timing systems support environments for an 'operational network.' Strong technical and hands-on experience in all of the following: Various protocols for data transmission (RS-232, RS-530, T1, T3, ESF, D4, B8ZS, OC-3, OC-12, OC-48). The ability to work with multiple personality types to accomplish tasks/meet schedules. Capacity to work unsupervised. Cisco and Juniper Certification. Positions require a TOP SECRET security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of full screening polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing to be completed by the U.S. Government.
