Mechanical Engineer T3 (AV-3-27-19)

Salary Range:
$60,000 -$84,000
Description:
Machine Design, flats mail sorting/ handling equipment. Perform research, design, development, and testing of mechanical automation systems and components. Emphasis is placed on the design and test of mechanisms that automate and improve existing mail sorting and processing functions. Development includes prototype design, evaluation and test as well as final design, documentation, and follow for transition to production quantities. Responsibilities include drawing/ parts list generation and revision control, vendor support, and may include some subcontractor management. Looking for a designer with strong machine design experience such as in the machine tool, automation, or material handling industry. Experience in the design of machinery and mechanisms. Working knowledge of machine shop fabrication practices. Ability to work with outside vendors.
Experience with drawings and parts lists to ASME Y14 and ability to work with 3D CAD systems is required. Experience with Inventor Series 10 is a plus.4 year degree in Engineering, BSME strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years experience with preferred emphasis in automation or mail processing handling systems. This Position may be filled by a band 3 or Band 4 candidate.
