Director, Software Engineering

• Responsible for the management of the Software Engineering Skill Center. Composed of a staff of 200 in support of an industry leader in designing secure, high rate embedded communication systems for a vast array of military and commercial applications.
• Position functions within a matrix organizational structure and supports 5 separate business entities.
• Often required to collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the design, development and utilization of electronic data processing and communication systems software.
• Responsible for technical (software) liaison at the highest levels of the organization.
• Responsible for employee training and development, performance assessment, work assignments and assisting with employee recruitment.
• Responsible for all project assigned to the organizational directorate.
• Acts as an advisor to subordinate managers or staff members to help meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
• Submits and administers budget schedules and performance standards.
• Coordinates activities of the skill center so they mesh well with the overall objectives of the business.
• Assures a directorate maturity of CMMI 3+.

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 10-15 years Software Engineering Experience (Communications).
• 5 years first line engineering management experience.
• Good understanding of Business Development, proposal development and Program Management.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Proven leader with strong influence skills.
• Active security clearance, secret level will be issued.

• MS in CS, CE or EE.
• Process Orientation.
• Excellent team building skills
• Ability to effectively integrate across organizations.
