Group Leader PAE-Product Applications Engineering Mgr/Team Lead
Job Location: San Diego, CA
Salary:
$100,000 - $140,000
Job Description:
This position requires a BSEE, MSEE a plus, and a minimum of 7 years of hardware/software (embedded systems) development. A minimum of 2 years experience in hardware semiconductor applications engineering is preferred. Experience with digital modulation schemes, RF communication IC’s, networking protocols, and video Set Top Box products are essential. Skills, and duties, include hardware design, hardware support, IC debug, Hardware layout recommendations, and development kit and reference design support. This individual should be familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout tools, along with production layout issues for digital and RF systems. This individual must have experience working with customers in the early phases of development defining reference designs and development boards, as well as providing post-sales customer engineering support. Occasional travel for on-site customer support and trade show demonstrations is required. Experience in software with skills working with C and assembly. Experience working with ARM embedded systems and with a variety of RTOS’s is desirable. Experience managing a small Applications team is necessary.
Job Requirements:
Required Skills and Experiences
• Manage a team of 4-6 Applications Engineers performing duties related to SW, HW, and systems and system integration.
• Perform and facilitate Hardware design reviews for both internal and external customer designs.
• Experienced with QPSK, QAM, and DVB-S2 Modulation Schemes.
• Familiar with DVB-S2, DVB-C, ITU-J83B, and DOCSIS standards.
• Possess knowledge of digital baseband demodulator layout and design issues.
• Debug and oversee the debug of customer hardware & firmware issues and track the changes through engineering. Document appropriate ECN’s within engineering or outside engineering services companies.
• Write appropriate documentation to support Conexant’s reference designs and development kits
• Create HW and SW related customer support documents, application notes, and FAQ’s.
• Work with engineering to implement hardware and software release standards and track hardware and software revision history among customers who have Conexant’s development kits and reference designs.
