Manufacturing Engineer

Requirements:
BS Engineering and experience driving new products from R&D through manufacturing, managing projects in manufacturing environment. including lean manufacturing; automated mechanical assembly and electro-mechanical assembly involving printed circuit boards bought from vendors. Experience in troubleshooting PCBA assembly defects and process improvements and standard cost systems experience would be considered a plus.
Job Duties:
Essentially will be assigned to one plant but will also manage projects at two other local facilities. Take a product from its original design concept through manufacturing to its ultimate launch into the marketplace. Will be involved in the process from beginning to end - focusing on the manufacturing aspects of new product development, including Design for Manufacturing, Process conception and implementation, Facilitation of production, establishing and meeting quality and manufacturing cost goals and continuous improvement activities. - Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. - Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. - Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. - Confers with suppliers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. - Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. - Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. - Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
