Summary:
This position will provide functional support to the Cote Blanche underground mine, located in Cote Blanche, LA. The position will provide support in the areas of Environment Health, Safety, Training and Worker’s Compensation Administration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following.
· Development and Implementation of EHS policy and procedures
· Maintain injury and illness records and reports
· Develop and conduct raining programs for salaried and hourly workforce
· Conduct Industrial Hygiene surveys.
· Conduct EHS Audits, recommending and assisting in the correction of Hazards Identified
· Participate and administer the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
· Administer the medical management program for injured employees.
· Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations.
· Report required information to regulatory agencies and the corporate office.
· Direct and maintenance of worker’s compensation, training, industrial hygiene and safety records.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree Environmental Health and Safety related field and 5 years related experience in a manufacturing plant or regulatory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work experience in industrial hygiene, behavioral based safety management systems. The ideal candidate will posses a proven track record in the design, set-up, implementation and continuous improvement of safety management systems such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, electrical safe practices, fall protection, etc.
Travel:
This position requires up to 25% travel with overnight stay
