Your Role
This is key technical leadership position in which you will be the subject matter expert on integrated microwave assembly design for various military applications. This role will afford you the opportunity to lead a team of talented design engineers and influence technical direction and strategy for this emerging product area. You will be leading the technical aspects of the design from proposal to release to manufacturing. In this new product area you will utilize your technical expertise to leverage our clients core strength in microwave design with the multi-chip module capability of a recent acquisition. You will be making decisions/recommendations on the design trade-offs of various architectures and implementation methods.

Qualification Profile
• BSEE/MSEE or higher.
• Ability to act as technical lead on a cross-functional design team
• Experience designing active RF circuits containing mixers, switches, RF amplifiers, oscillators, detectors, filters and other building blocks for military radar and EW applications
• Experience designing integrated microwave assemblies (IMA) and multi-chip modules (MCM) using chip and wire/advanced packaging technologies
• US Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance.
Role and Responsibilities
• Interface with customers, Business Development engineers, product management, internal design staff, and other team members to actively support quality and customer satisfaction
• Work independently or lead an engineering team to meet project schedules.
• Design and evaluate components and lay-out design using available design and layout tools.
• Executes program plans and priorities, identify obstacles and issues and communicate to achieve resolution.
• Prepare and present presentations for program design reviews:
o Circuit designs and tolerance analysis
o Correlation of simulations and test results
o Top level system performance analysis
o Design risk assessment and mitigation plans
• Mentor less experienced RF design engineers and RF engineering interns.
• Work with interns, test engineering, and engineering technicians on specific program tasks including test procedures development, test station development and data reduction software.
• Evaluate data related to test results and work with the team to implement changes to meet requirements.
• Provide reports to engineering on component evaluations.
Required Skills
• A basic understanding of and strong interest in microwave theory.
• Practical microwave design experience and test of RF/Microwave components or subsystems in the frequency range of 1-40 GHz.
• Ability to design experiments, analyze the data and conduct structured problem solving.
• Experience using advance design tools required:
o 3d electromagnetic simulation- Ansoft HFSS or equivalent
o Linear and non-linear design- Ansoft Designer or equivalent
o CAD Software-AutoCad or equivalent.
o Matlab and/or Excel Visual Basic or equivalent level programming languages.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
