Job Description:
This position serves in Tyson's Corporate Strategy and Development Department and supports the development of strategies to address Tyson's top corporate and division-level issues. The primary duties include: leading working teams (or sub-teams) through all phases of work including work plan design, project scoping, team member selection, and analyses required to support strategy initiatives; ensuring the department Analysts or working team members complete all project work along the prescribed time lines; understanding and synthesizing key business issues and developing creative insights into the performed analyses; identifying additional analyses that should be performed; independently scoping the associated work plan; and actively participating in "department development" activities (Recruiting, Training, Administration, etc.). The position prepares an individual for senior line and staff management positions.
Position-Specific Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree; preferably in a business-related discipline or technical curriculum. MBA preferred.
Experience: 5+ years experience in their field; strategic management consulting experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite including generating spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, creating word documents. Access proficiency a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Travel: 3 to 4 domestic trips per year.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.
Special Skills: Ability to contend with the range and complexity of business problems; high level of integrity and honesty; and ability to work with all levels of management to implement solutions and elicit management change; and expertise in developing and communicating presentations.
