Brief Description:
Under general supervision, codes outpatient and Emergency room records for the purpose of reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations using ICD-9-CM classification system and CPT-4.
Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of outpatient and Emergency Room coding experience required.Completion of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.Knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding.Knowledge of CPT-4/HCPCS.High school graduate with personal computer experience and knowledge of patient accounting and reimbursement requirements.
