Our Client is a hospital in Portsmouth, NH seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Emergency Department. Full time Clinical Nurse Specialist opportunity with the Emergency Dept, 40 hrs/wk. Level II Trauma Center and see about 30,000 patients a year. This is an outstanding opportunity to work at a state-of-the-art acute care hospital. Looking for a self-starter who can function independently and act as a clinical leader supporting staff to meet the demands of advances in technology and care. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a Masters prepared nurse with an area of specialization who promotes competent, compassionate and professional nursing care for patients/families across the continuum. The role includes clinical practice, teaching, consultation and research. The Clinical Nurse Specialist assists others in achieving desired outcomes through direct and indirect care activities. The Clinical Nurse Specialists spheres of influence include the patient and family, nursing personnel and other health care practitioners, and organizational systems. The Clinical Nurse Specialist reports to the Nurse Director and is an integral member of the units nursing leadership team. The CNS is directly responsible for the advancement of clinical practice in the Emergency Department (ED).
QUALIFICATIONS: Masters degree in Nursing required. Current RN license and ACLS required. 5 years acute care experience with 3 yrs in the Emergency Dept required. 2 years as CNS preferred. Current licensure as an RN. Masters degree in Nursing required . Certification as a CNS or in area of specialty is required or must be attained within one year of hire . Five years acute care nursing experience required, three years of which are in Emergency Nursing. Two years experience as a CNS is preferred. Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
SALARY: Above salary scale is a national projection so it will vary depending on location. Specific information will be provided upon preliminary screening with our client.
