Job Description:
Develop and implement loss mitigation and foreclosure strategies, policies, and procedures, which will enable the company to properly balance effective credit loss strategies with homeownership preservation. Enable employer to purchase the broadest range of loans in a well-controlled fashion. Manage controllable credit losses via economically viable workouts and aggressive foreclosure/bankruptcy timeline and cost management. Coordinate efforts and form strong collaborative partnerships with Legal, Sourcing, Credit Policy, and SF Operations, Mission Division. Oversee the Designated Counsel program. Capture the necessary data to understand and manage delinquent loan portfolio. Ensure the data integrity of the delinquent loan portfolio. Thoroughly analyze the data to understand the performance of delinquent loan portfolio and its relative impact to credit losses, REO inflows, mortgage securities and asset acquisition strategies. Manage Servicer and vendor performance in the area of non-performing loans by determining reasonable benchmarks of performance, clearly setting expectations, measuring performance, providing timely feedback, identifying and communicating Best Practices. This is done via the Servicer Performance Profiles, Workout Manager and Foreclosure Timeline Manager and other default management tools. Develop Assess and implement technologies/systems/processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of staff and of our Servicers (EDR, Workout Prospector, Early Indicator, and Early Resolution type tools). Establish Volume II Guide requirements with regard to non-performing loan servicing. Provide timely feedback on the performance of different products within our portfolio and provide Non-Performing Loans input on the development of New Products - identifying risks and offsets. Represent non-performing loans policies and procedures to OFHEO, HUD and other industry bodies. Develop and maintain strong working relations with the Service Bureaus and Mortgage Insurers in the area of non-performing loans. As necessary, meet with the MBA, FHA, VA, governmental officials and community groups to understand their issues and to represent companys position on issues. As necessary, representing companys position on non-performing loans to the press. Job requires Masters Degree in Business, Finance or Economics 10 plus years experience in servicing industry or real estate finance, 7+ years of demonstrated management and leadership experience.

Additional Specifications:

The Non Performing Loans Director will report to the Vice President of Servicing and Asset Management. He/She will provide leadership to a team of 80 and will have 5 direct reports. The Non Performing Loans team services a portfolio of approximately 330,000 Units. We anticipate significant growth for the team in the coming year.

The ideal candidate will be an industry-seasoned, innovative, self-starter who understands crisis markets and has proven experience in the primary market space. He/She will have the proven ability to face challenges head on. The candidate select will demonstrate that he/she can effectively articulate strategy and vision during this dynamic time. As a function of the presentations to be given by this individual, experience with collecting and delivering executive level data is also a must. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate who possesses strong leadership development skills.

In addition to customary duties, the Non Performing Loans Director will participate on advisory boards and represent the the companys mission in public forums, as necessary. This position is highly visible and requires the business savvy and aptitude to effectively play an internal and external human relations role.
