About the Opportunity: Profitable, privately held company that has been in business for over 24 years, and has doubled in size over the last two years. Demand for our expertise in Mission Critical Data Center Operations and Maintenance services has propelled over 30 growth in the last 12 months. Most recently, we have been awarded two contracts to oversee the operations and maintenance of two state of the art data centers, a solo operator site DC in Santa Barbara CA and a (currently) six person site in Chantilly VA. Were looking for candidates with the right combination of technical savvy, business acumen and interpersonal effectiveness to assume end to end responsibility for each of these sites, and as appropriate earn the right to manage other facilities.
Responsibilities/Requirements: The successful candidate will have at least five years of critical facility operations and maintenance experience, and a proven track record of experience performing the following responsibilities in a mission critical data center environment:
Demonstrated technical knowledge of electrical distribution and emergency/standby power systems, HVAC systems, fire detection/suppression or monitoring/control systems. (Please elaborate in your response)
Prior experience scheduling/supervising the performance of both routine and emergency service on a variety of state of the art critical systems, including: medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems. (Please specify specific areas of expertise in your response)
Experience supervising a technical staff, including the on-site management of sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work is performed according to established practices/procedures.
Establishing performance benchmarks, conducting analyses and preparing reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance.
Working with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity and optimize the safety, performance, reliability and efficiency of the mission critical environment
Ensuring detailed SOPs and MOPs exist and are used for all work on critical facility equipment.
Maintaining a constant state of readiness in support of the mission goal of 100 uptime.
Creating and modeling a culture of excellence and constant process improvement.
Ability to work after hours / weekends and travel as needed for training and company meetings.
Strong computer skills and a familiarity with computer networking concepts and Microsoft office
Strong English oral written communication skills required.
