Job Description:
Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Summary: Responsible for providing technical expertise within manufacturing. Develops and implements cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Manages configuration control and Engineering Change Notification (ECN) process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
XDiagnose and troubleshoot technical issues associated with complex robotic systems
XDevelop and improve manufacturing processes and methods focusing on quality, efficiency cost reduction.
XInvestigate parts design and manufacturing issues and propose and author ECN corrective actions.
XDesign and procure tools and equipment to enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.
XCreate and implement best method manufacturing process to ensure smooth flow of products through assembly, qualification and shipping.
XDevelop manufacturing processes and create work instructions for new products and changes in existing products.
XProvide technical expertise to supply chain management, focusing on quality, efficiency and cost reduction.
XLead the effort to identify and implement cost effective out-sourcing strategies.
XMentor junior Engineers and technicians.
XResponsible for engineering document control and overall ECN process.
XMaintain Item Master and Bills of Material in ERP system.
XVerify manufacturing compliance and inventory disposition in accordance with approved ECNs.
XConduct Bill of Material audits
Skills/Knowledge/Educational Requirements:
XBachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering.
XExperience with 3-D CAD proficiency in Solid Works a plus.
X4-7 years experience in manufacturing engineering. Background should include experience with complex electro-mechanical systems.
XRequired experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principle in a high-tech, low-volume environment.
XExperience in working directly with suppliers to improve quality and lower costs
XMust have understanding of ERP systems.
XMust have direct experience in Engineering Change Processing.
XExcellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
