Job Description:
Clinical Systems Analyst (Meditech Software Applications)
Come to Eastern Connecticut, close to the Connecticut and Rhode Island shorelines, a short ride to metro Boston for weekend adventures.
This eastern Connecticut acute care community Hospital with 213-beds, is not-for-profit, is the primary source of health services for nearly a quarter-million people. A 112 year old Hospital that has provided quality healthcare to the residents of this area since its founding in 1893,
This Hospital has continually expanded, providing new programs and services and forming strategic alliances with other healthcare organizations and providers.
It is the only state-designated trauma center east of the Connecticut River, and it is the only regional facility that can receive, via air medical transport helicopter, patients with severe traumatic injuries.
Requirements:
Full Time 40 hours days Areas of Support CPOE, POM, PCM
Areas of support: Provider Order Management (POM) order entry application and the rollout and support of Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) and the physician documentation module of Meditechs Physician Care Manager (PCM)
Responsibilities: Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE): Work within the CPOE team to support the implementation of physician order entry as the first phase of the Meditech Physician Care Management (PCM) module.
Develop a solid understanding of the POM order entry module, dictionary development and physician workflow Work with individual physicians under the guidance of the CPOE physician representative to develop and test order sets
Work closely with PCS staff to develop and support processes necessary for the pilot CPOE implementation and subsequent rollout to the next group of physicians
Work with MIS team to implement the physician documentation module of PCM
A good understanding of the use of Meditech applications within the clinical areas of the organization (PCS Clinical documentation, EMR Electronic Medical Record, Order Entry, OR Management, etc.)
Knowledgeable regarding current clinical best practice, patient care initiatives, and industry standards regarding patient safety and consumer directed care.
An understanding of Meditech applications dictionaries and their role in the functioning of an applications
Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
Education: Nursing degree or degree in Computer or Information Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a clinician or in a clinician support role in a healthcare environment.
