Job Description:
Basic Functions:
Ensuring that production processes and finished products meet or exceed all customer quality expectations.
Specific Duties:
Work with production personnel and supervision to investigate, diagnose and resolve quality issues.
Address supplier quality issues with suppliers, other Quality Engineers (QEs) and supplier development managers.
Manage supplier quality by tracking 4-D and 8-D timeliness, containment, MQRs and supplier rejects via the Product Corrective Action Database (PCAD) system.
Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP).
Distribute and track supplier PPAPs as they arrive.
Maintain supplier PPAP manuals.
Provide supplier training/assistance with Product Change Notice (PCN) system, PCN changes and requirements.
Input supplier information onto the AQP website on a monthly basis.
Provide end of month reports.
Visit suppliers as necessary for proactive and reactive reasons and when new launches occur.
