Job Description: Arm/Ordnance, Self Protect System and Stores Management Systems Engineer. Provide systems engineering expertise in the specification, design, vendor selection, integration, and test of software and hardware for Arm/Ordnance, Self Protect Systems and Stores Management Systems into airborne platforms. Perform systems engineering duties to provide associated ground support systems for each of these aircraft capabilities. Conduct preliminary and advanced design studies supporting the preparation of engineering proposals and establishment of systems architecture and design. Provide cross-functional coordination for complex multidisciplinary system development. Prepare specifications and detailed engineering reports on system design and performance. Perform vendor trade studies which consists of evaluating and selecting arm/ord, self protect and stores management solutions. Interact with customers to ensure a fundamental understanding of complexities within a technical application. Support the preparation and presentation of formal customer reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA, PCA). Provide consultation to Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Design Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, and other functional areas to ensure all assignments are completed in accordance with prescribed objectives and schedule deadlines. Participate with vendor/subcontractor selection and technical management following subcontract award. Support customer and prime contractor interactions as a systems engineering lead. Identify, define and coordinate integration of self protect, arm/ord and stores management sub-system interfaces into aircraft power, weapon, navigation and mission systems. Produce aircraft ground and flight test plans and procedures to qualify aircraft systems equipped with these systems. Job will entail serving as an engineering subject matter expert on these types of systems to a variety of programs.
Degree Required: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Math, Physics, Computer Science or equivalent is absolutely required.
Security Clearance: Current Secret DoD clearance required.
Required Skills: Candidate must have solid experience as a Systems Engineer involving the integration of self-protect systems, arm/ordnance and stores management systems into airborne platforms. Candidate should have an understanding of all components which comprise these systems. Knowledge of current and future technologies is required. Familiarity with Stores Management Systems, MIL-STD-1760 weapons, towed decoys and DIRCM required. Knowledge of certification and test programs involving aircraft weapons and stores release is strongly needed. Candidate should have an understanding of the operational concept of such systems, especially as they apply to airborne systems operating in a variety of environments.
