Job Description:
We are currently working with a hospital in Alabama that is looking to hire a
Director of Information Systems
With an award winning, growing, state of the art, hospital/healthcare network. Position reports to a great VP. Description
Reporting to the VP and CIO, the Dir I/S will provide leadership and management to a staff of 32 FTEs in the most I-T advanced healthcare facility in Central Alabama. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years hospital based I-T experience at least 3 of which are in a leadership role. Candidates must have a broad range of technical knowledge and experience including local and wide area networking, host, server, and desktop operating systems, and a full range of computer and peripheral hardware. Telephone and switching experience is preferred but not mandatory. Experience with one or more of McKessons Star, Pathways, or Horizon products is a must. A Bachelors degree is required Masters preferred. The ideal candidate must be able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment and be committed to staff and customer satisfaction.
Must have experience with McKesson SW (Star, or Horizon)

2) Besides keeping the staff customer satisfied, what will this person need to do to be successful Complete the implementation of our EMR, facilitate the implementation of CPOE (McKessons HEO), maintain the existing high level of staff satisfaction, improve ancillary support, facilitate the implementation and roll out of our physician office EMR (NextGen), discover a cure for cancer,
