Job Description:
SUPERVISES: Materials Planners, Materials Supervisors
JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsibility:
Develop and analyze lists of raw materials, purchased parts, and equipment needed in the manufacture of complete automobile seat assemblies
Schedule and summarize all outgoing production
Coordinate and formulate all raw materials and purchased parts needed for production
Research and identify cost reduction ideas
Schedule and direct orders concerning the size and quantities of material needed for plant operations
Control and organize material substitutions, storage and handling, and maintenance requirements for scheduled deliveries
Evaluate and maintain inventories of stock to adequately support scheduled production
Administer and direct timely transportation of completed product
Load EDI releases from customer, develop master schedule, run MRP, create vendor releases, transmit vendor releases via EDI and fax
Assist in updating and maintaining part numbers
Perform Customer Service duties as required
Direct cycle counts as needed
Keep trailer and warehouse storage locations organized and maintain storage inventories and locations
Complete annual performance reviews for subordinates
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Qualifications:
A four (4) year degree and five (5) years experience with progressive supervisor responsibility
Proficient in MRPII/ERP operating systems
Superior level of analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and develop resolutions
High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, management, employees, and corporate personnel
Physical Requirements:
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, talk and hear
Employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
Authority:
Develop and document needed procedures
Coordinate releases for customer
Review and approve material list for conformance to company standard practice concerning parts and material used
Coordinate and authorize the requisition of supplies due to rejections or engineering changes involving ongoing production
Experience:
5-7 years of experience
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: 60000 - 65000
