Utilities Mechanic
Job Location: Fort Pierce, FL

Position Purpose:
Work to support Steam generation, Ammonia refrigeration, Water Treatment, Wastewater treatment and other support function as assigned. Utilities mechanics will accomplish this through assuring necessary and related equipment operation. Perform multi-functions, multitask with various levels and breadth of technology.
This job is not limited to the following primary job duties.
Additional duties may be preformed as required.
Principle Accountabilities:
Must be able to maintain a safe and clean work area while working in a fast paced work environment. Assure the continued operation of the plant ammonia refrigeration, steam, natural gas, compressed air, air drying, cooling towers, condensers, fire system, water and wastewater treatment equipment through performing preventive maintenance work orders, corrective and emergency breakdown work orders. Must be qualified at the HAZWOPER technician level to offensively respond stop and repair anhydrous ammonia leaks. Must be a good communicator and treat all with respect. Follow all Plant and Departmental Rules. Must be willing to work flexible hours with in the scope of union agreement.
Primary Job Duties:
- Perform equipment inspections
- Take oil samples from reservoirs and send for analysis
- Change oil in reservoirs
- Install bearings, repair pumps and compressors
- Required to grind, and qualified to weld carbon steel pipe and stainless steel tube for ammonia refrigeration and steam
- Have knowledge of basic tooling and measurement techniques.
- Assume the role as technical support to operators.
- Assist in assuring the completeness of equipment bill of materials.
- Attend business meetings.
- Utilize software including but not limited to SAP and Outlook.
- Adhere to all plant and department safety rules
- Return area to GMP level of cleanliness after equipment repair

Physical Requirements:
- Lift pull and/or push up to 40 lbs.
