Instrumentation Technician

Job Location: Fort Pierce, FL

Summary:
Tropicana has a year round position for a Manufacturing Instrumentation Technician at our Ft. Pierce, FL. The Technician will be responsible for performing inspections, calibrates, troubleshooting equipment, and corrective maintenance. The preferred candidate should posses 5 years Instrumentation Controls technical experience in an industrial environment including design and troubleshooting skills with Allen Bradley RSLogic programming, and Wonderware. Must be willing to work shifts.

Position Purpose:
Technicians will be responsible for performing inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting of equipment including PLC codes, labelers, and video jets. Must be able to trouble shoot using a Hart Communicator or vendor software and communicate findings to supervisors, managers, directors, hourly personnel. Findings will be documented in log book, emails, and spreadsheets.

Principle Accountabilities:
Technicians complete work using Tropicana, NEC, GMP, and Quality standards. They will work closely with and support all departments, use SAP, and train and mentor Trade VI/Technician B employees. Work will be done safely and in a timely manner.

Primary Job Duties:

  • To include everything listed under Trade VI / Tech "B":
  • Be able to effectively prioritize scheduled work and projects
  • Assume technical decision-making
  • Have minimum of 8 years or more experience in the E-I field, (with a minimum of 2 years experience in Instrument, Measurement & Control), equivalent formal training plus experience, or equivalent related experience.
  • Advanced PLC troubleshooting to include code modifications (given proper Management Authorization ) to change set-points, toggle switches, forcing functions, step through sequences etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge and capability to access and troubleshoot HMI's (PanelVue's, WonderWare terminals, etc...)
  • Be able to set up and tune system controls and instruments, both pneumatic and electronic.
  • Know how to properly document and store HMI and PLC programming
  • Achieve ISA level 2 Certified Control Systems Technician or equivalent certification within 12 months of selection. (tentative)
  • Trained and understand on-line barcode scanning equipment and software
  • Trained and demonstrated capability on field device networks (DeviceNet, ControlNet, etc)
  • Trained and demonstrated capability on HMI software including adding / modifying alarms and creating objects (excluding PC based software, i.e. Wonderware)
