District Manager
Job Location: Tulsa, OK
JOB SUMMARY:
Profitably direct and manage distribution and service operations for assigned District Office, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and administrative employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage service work, field projects, shop services, and warehousing, in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by Total Safety and the Regional Operations Manager.
- Confers with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved and expanded services in area.
- Support the technical aspects of selling Total Safety products and services to all customers and potential customers.
- Become an active participant in area community affairs and professional organizations that will enhance networking abilities, personal knowledge of local business opportunities/knowledge, and increase the visibility of Total Safety.
- Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
- Responsible for District Office costs, quality, customer service, and safety of operations, and support inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of district.
- Provides supervision/management of all District Office activities with regard to Management, Safety, and Quality Assurance directives including monthly revenue/expense projections reporting, cost analysis, accident/compliance incident reporting, and quality audits/metrics reporting.
- Preparation and management of all District Office accounting activities; conduct budget and financial data analysis including annual budget submittals and audit information.
- Coordinate use of personnel and equipment within the Region(s), as necessary, to achieve maximum efficiency, profitability, and utilization of District Office resources.
- Travel as required to support the sales and operations mission.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise employees in all lines of business conducted by the District Office. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science or related field is preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years supervisory experience and one (1) year sales experience preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- TECHNICAL APTITUDE: Understanding of electronics, either through past experience or education. The ability to grasp new technologies and apply them to current and future company direction(s).
- LEADERSHIP: The ability to motivate Service Center Associates, provide direction to maximize their efforts in a team environment, and provide support for their concerns/problems, as well as, their achievements. Identifying procedural deficiencies that could be improved upon, leading to Associates' job satisfaction and efficiency for customer satisfaction.
- ORGANIZATION: Maintain personal workplace efficiency and institute office procedures or changes, to maximize time management of all Associates. Develop a system to capitalize on business opportunities, both current and future, and keep the Regional Manager informed.
- DATA ANALYSIS/INTERPRETATION: The fundamental capacity for report reading. This is the basis for understanding market trends and changes, the effects of sales strategies and performance thereof, and needed changes in Regional or Corporate plans to maximize sales efforts/efficiency. Analyzing reports and data from corporate office in order to succinctly communicate with Regional Manager, (via weekly Branch operations report) key trends, developments, status, and opportunities, which affect both current and future business opportunities.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Understanding the requirements and philosophies of Corporate and Regional Managers and the ability to communicate them to Service Center Associates. Listening is a critical component to communication effectiveness. Excellent written/verbal skills are required to keep Regional Manager informed in all areas of Service Center Operations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Incumbent must have current driver's license from state of residence, and proof of individual vehicle insurance insured to a minimum of the state of residence requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- Working at PC terminal for extended period.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office/Warehouse environment. May occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions if visiting actual work sites outside of the normal office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, as normal for an office workplace.
COMPENSATION/BENEFIT:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
