In-Plant Service Center Supervisor

Job Location: Various locations throughout the U.S.

Job Summary:
The In-Plant Service Center (IPSC) Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all operating activities related to the IPSC including human and equipment resources and those activities assigned by the Manager, Field Operations & In-Plant Services. The primary purpose is to ensure that effective customer communication is maintained in order to efficiently define and schedule IPSC work. Ensure that IPSC operations are performed and supervised in accordance with the Customers requirements and the Company's quality control program, policies, and procedures.

Candidates will train in Texas, and must be willing to relocate to other locations throughout the United States.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains adequate inventory to sustain a 24-hour state of readiness of shop tools, respiratory and breathing air equipment, transport trailers, cascade air banks and associated pressure regulating equipment, breathing air compressors and fill stations, portable gas monitors, associated respiratory and gas monitor test equipment, all rental electronics equipment, and hand held radios.
  • Determines specific and/or special customer needs with regard to scheduling and availability of equipment to satisfy the demands placed on the IPSC.
  • Oversees all operational issues to include direct involvement with briefing/debriefing and job preparation and follow-up.
  • Perform and document operations and billing in accordance with the guidelines established through quality control and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop initiatives regarding evolving human resources and equipment needs, problem prevention, corrective action programs, and continuous improvement of the IPSC standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee and approve the compilation of material needs and requisitions and assure timely submittal to purchasing for execution. Provides follow-up as necessary to assure timely delivery of equipment and/or accuracy of customer status reporting.
  • Reports status of operational issues Supervisor on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage a "Preventive Maintenance Program" and repair facility for in-house and out-sourced equipment.
  • Plans and establishes strategies for both short and long-term IPSC goals and objectives.
  • Assists, as needed, with the development of new product lines, departments and/or services within IPSC.
  • Liaisons with Sales force personnel to coordinate efforts between sales and operations, including direct support of sales efforts when necessary.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
3 plus years experience in petrochemical and/or refinery operations is desired, with minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Experience in Fire Protection Services, Respiratory Protection and Gas Detection is preferred. Associates degree or higher preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must read, speak, and write English at or above a high school graduate level. Ability to speak Spanish, or other second language not required, but considered a plus.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Overall good understanding of and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheets, Internet Software, E-mail and other data base software. Ability to quickly learn new software applications utilized by company.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Incumbent must have current drivers license from state of residence, and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess good driving record and be insurable by Total Safety US, Inc. insurance providers for vehicle insurance while driving company truck.
  • Incumbent must have or be able to obtain a valid class "C" drivers license with a DOT hazardous endorsement.
Physical Demands:
Required to lift loads up to as much as 50 lbs. and to operate hoist and rigging equipment. Must be able to operate forklift equipment.

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with experience. As a non-exempt position, overtime of time and one-half the normal hourly rate will be paid for hours worked in excess of 40 in any given work week.
