Job Summary:


Tulsa Dental practice is looking for a Full-Time Dental Hygienist. Ideal candidates will have 1 5 years of previous Dental Hygienist experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, dental charting

  • Taking and developing dental x-rays

  • Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth

  • Applying preventive materials to the teeth

  • Teaching patients the appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health

  • Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on overall health

  • Making impressions of patient teeth for study casts

  • Performing documentation and office administrative activities

  • Additional tasks as assigned

Experience:


  • 1-5 years of previous experience

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Degree from an accredited dental hygiene school

  • Oklahoma state license

Supervisor Requirements:


The professional hired will not be responsible for the direct supervision of any staff.

Knowledge and Abilities:


  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

  • Ability to handle and resolve challenging problems.

  • Average visual acuity necessary to prepare or review documents or operate equipment.

  • Ability to speak, frequently conveying detailed or important information or ideas accurately.

  • Ability to hear normal speech, both in person and on the telephone.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a medical office setting.

  • May be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, biohazards, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a clinic setting.

  • Contact involves dealing with sick persons.

  • Interaction with others may be constant and interruptive.

  • Work may be stressful at times.

  • May involve dealing with angry or upset individuals.

  • May periodically work outside of normal work hours.
