Job Description:
Role: 20 hours including every Saturday

The Financial Services Advisor is the primary provider of sales and service to Elevations’ members. The role of this Teller position is to assist members with their financial transactions, promote member satisfaction by providing friendly, accurate service, and cross selling products and services, while advising members of their financial options and recommending solutions to their financial questions. The Financial Services Advisor will close sales opportunities or refer items outside of their authority to the appropriate individual. All Tellers are to ensure the protection of Credit Union and member assets by adhering to established policies and procedures.

Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations governing applicable to the Credit Union, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Process financial requests including deposits, withdrawals, savings bonds, Traveler’s Cheques, VISA advances, official checks, loan payments, statement requests, research requests, check ordering, and address changes. Also handles involved member transactions such as opening and closing money market and certificate accounts, online banking support and fee refunds and waivers. Provide routine to complex information concerning service and if necessary direct members to the appropriate department for specific information and service.
Profile the financial needs of members through open-ended interviewing techniques and utilize account profile to identify cross-sell opportunities.
Provide a level of service that is recognized by the members as exceptionally pleasant, helpful, informative, and responsive.
Ability to exercise decision making and judgment that balances member situations and requests with the business interests of the Credit Union.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of features and benefits of all products and services, and applicable state and federal regulations. Also keep informed of changes in Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Involved in daily operations including but not limited to opening and closing the branch, vault and cash dispatch operations, scheduling teller breaks, and balancing branch at end of day.
• Complete transactions promptly and accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Expectations:
1. To assist members in the branch as first priority.
2. Maintain strong skills in the areas of cross-selling, and retention of shares.
3. To meet established sales goals by cross selling Credit Union products and services.
4. To support a sales culture in the branch and the achievement of departmental loan, share, and sales goals.
5. To provide accurate, professional, timely, stellar service to all members.
6. To keep management informed regarding key operating issues affecting the department.
7. To meet expected balancing standards.

Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Six months to two years of financial institution experience with an emphasis on customer service, deposit and sales operations.

Education:
Equivalent to a high school diploma.

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of diplomacy and trust is required, in addition to courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Strong focus on meeting member needs.

Other Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Profit and loss write-offs (Uncollected debt that is written off by creditor)
- Accounts sent to collection
- Public record judgments (Tax liens and public judgments for civil action)
