Certified Coder
The Certified Coder is responsible for timely review of patient records in order to identify an appropriate selection of ICD-9 and CPT Codes which will accurately reflect the reason for admission, extent of care received, and of severity of illness. Coder is further responsible for insuring that all data elements required for federal and state reporting are collected and included in patients'' demographic records. Must have High School diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of an approved Health Information program with successful completion of subsequent exam for medical billing and coding. RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred and will consider CPC certification. Minimum of 2 years coding experience required. Must possess proficient computer skill amd have a strong working knowledge of medical terminology and coding quidelines, rules and regulations as well as coding ethics. Other essential qualifications include excellent communication skills, a strong attentiont to detail, the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
Pay starts at $14.35/hr and up DOE.
