ROLE SUMMARY
The Administrative Representative is responsible for the oversight of workflow and operations during the assigned shift. Supervises and directs the work of staff to ensure patient safety, quality patient care, and outstanding patient satisfaction in accordance with established procedures. Responds to hospital emergency situations, initiates disaster notification processes, coordinates access to on-call resources PRN, and facilitates patient placement, organ donation and communication with media. Consistently uses highest standards of interpersonal communication skills to maintain and improve operational effectiveness, assuring satisfaction, of all internal and external customers. Provides direction and coordination of all departments in the absence of Administration and Management staff.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recognizes the need for entire house oversight and follows up on any issues with the respective manager and/or director. Entire house oversight includes: Communicates with the administrator on call as needed; Takes leadership initiative through regular rounding and supports the staff in all departments; Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements; Assumes primary nursing and administrative leadership.
2. Demonstrates interpersonal skills in accordance with Service Excellence philosophy. Prioritizes Service Recovery with all internal and external customers of CMRC. Builds, promotes, role models and supports effective collegial relationships with all individuals including staff, physicians, the community, facilities, and patients and families. Performs service recovery and initiates budgeted funds for recovery as needed, i.e.; taxi service, patient family housing, etc. reports patient issues to manager or director of the unit.
3. Works with department Directors/Managers to identify, resolve, and implement solutions for staffing, morale, and work methods/procedure problems.
Effectively motivates others and delegates responsibilities and necessary authority to meet those responsibilities. Demonstrates an expectation and support for continuous performance improvement, utilizing processes that include consideration of all stakeholders.
4. Supports and initiates process improvements that enhance provision of clinical services, clinical outcomes, and patient throughput. Ensures that safety is a priority; identifies and corrects or initiates corrective action for barriers to safety. Fosters an environment focusing on processes and outcomes rather than on individual blame.
Advances and supports the professional nurse in the roles of Provider, Teacher, Advocate, Member of the Profession and Manager. Actively works with staff and managers/administrators to ensure compliance with nursing standards, and accreditation and regulatory requirements.
5. In collaboration with the administrative/management staff, works to advance the goals established for departments, programs and CMRC. Assists Directors/Managers in creating effective staff relations to support achievement of operational plans and vision and targeted financial performance. Manages human resources to optimize productivity and safe and positive patient outcomes. Encourages autonomy amongst professional nurses.
6. Employee will support and participate in relationship based care model by
the support of shared governance and participate in at least one council, as appropriate.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
· Superb interpersonal and communication skills with all CMRC internal and external customers.
· Knowledge and experience in an acute care clinical environment.
· Attention to details; ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem solve using critical thinking and perform calculations within the scope of a professional registered nurse. Able to problem solve under simultaneous stressors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· BSN preferred, or required within 3 years of hire date. Five (5) years of acute care experience preferred.
· Current Wyoming RN license holds current provider status in BLS, ACLS, TNCC. (if not current in ACLS or TNCC, successfully completes both courses within 6 months of hire). Certification in nursing specialty area preferred or Nursing Administration.
· Minimum of 3 years management/staffing experience demonstrating progressive leadership development and competency commensurate with experience.
