Job Details:
ROLE SUMMARY
Works under direct supervision of RN and the Clinical Nurse Manager. An Emergency Service Technician is assigned basic technical duties and assists professional personnel as appropriate. May be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patient needs. Performs other duties within job descriptions and skill level as assigned. Emergency Service Technician must maintain Wyoming E.M.T. licensure and CPR certification; national registry certification preferred.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides patient care as allowed by Hospital Policy.
2. Collaborates with and assists the professional staff as necessary. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations when working with patients, families, guests, physician, co-workers, other departments and management.
3. Maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, physicians and guests.
4. Is an advocate for the hospital and its customers.
5. Assists patients into room and places monitoring devices as appropriate and notifies assigned nurse of patient's condition.
6. Reports to the assigned nurse any concerns or abnormal findings and assists with immediate interventions.
7. Assess patients at least every 30 minutes and record findings on patient care record as well as notifying nurse of any changes in patient's condition.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
· Good communication skills with patients, families, supervisors, and co-workers.
· Ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem solve using critical thinking; and perform calculations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· High school graduate or GED equivalent
· Wyoming EMT-B license, BLS & IV certifications, national registry certification preferred.
· Experience not required but preferred.
