Description:
The Computer Science and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position for fall 2008
This position is for a junior faculty member in Computer Engineering, although Computer Science candidates in the areas of networking, systems, software engineering, or robotics are also encouraged to apply. The faculty member will be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, and develop a strong sponsored research program. Applicants are required to hold an earned doctorate in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and should have demonstrated potential to excel in teaching and research.
The CSCE department occupies new quarters in the J. B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Center for Academic Excellence building. The department offers Ph.D., master's, and ABET-accredited bachelor's degrees in both Computer Science and Computer Engineering. The University of Arkansas is a first tier institute, according to America's Best Colleges 2008 published by the U.S. News and World Report. The UA is located in Fayetteville in the rolling foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Fayetteville was ranked as the 8th "Best Metro" in Forbes' 2007 list of "Best Places for Business and Careers", recognized as one of the "Best Places to Live" by Money Magazine in 2006, and ranked 1st for job growth by the Milken Institute in 2003.
