Work Schedule:
Shift work: 6 am-2pm, 10am-6pm, 2:30pm-10:30pm, 10pm-6am
Minimum Requirements:
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in the operation of public safety or related communication equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must successfully pass departmental background/security clearance investigation.
Job Duties:
The dispatcher is charged with major responsibilities; the first being the safety of the field officer. Since this position is the main communication link to the campus population and the officer in the field in both emergency and non-emergency situation, the dispatcher must be highly capable in order to carry out this extremely vital and important function. In addition to manning phones, radios, pagers, ACIC terminal, E-phones, fire and security alarms on campus, etc., the dispatcher is responsible for entering cases reports, radio logs, and other records stored by computer, assists general public and does other duties as required.
