Annual Salary:
This is a 12-month, full-time position based in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The position is contingent upon annual availability of funds. The University of Arkansas offers a complete benefit package and generous leave policy. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Description:
The Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources and Communication Disorders in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, invites applications for the position of Research Assistant and Statewide Coordinator of the Arkansas People First Developmental Disabilities Council grant. This is a full-time, 12-month, non tenure-track position in the Center for the Utilization of Rehabilitation Resources for Education, Networking, Training and Service located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. May 2008 is the preferred starting date for this position.
Minimum Requirements:
The individual selected for this position will be expected to possess the following required qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or its equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
1. At least two years experience working with people with disabilities or first-hand experience and/or knowledge of disability.
Job Duties:
The Duties and responsibilities of the research assistant position include the following:
(1) Provide leadership and guidance to assure that grant goals and objectives are met and that strong external relationships are developed;
(2) perform all administrative functions including quarterly reports to the Arkansas People First Development Disabilities Council (DDC), budget and program revision requests, fiscal management and grant writing;
(3) supervise and support APF staff and volunteers;
(4) provide support for Arkansas People First chapters statewide, support the APF Executive Committee and Board as well as APF Chapter Advisors.
