Description:
Pre-College Programs at the University of Arkansas invites applications for the Director of Gifted and Talented Scholars. This position reports to the Senior Director for Residential Programs and oversees a statewide/regional recruitment and marketing plan designed to identify academically gifted students in grades 6 – 12. The Director is responsible for program administration and the coordination of academic enrichment programs including Scholar Saturdays, Summer Institute, and GT Scholars iCAMP.
This is a full time 12-month position with paid vacation and fringe benefits.
Minimum Requirements:
Required qualifications include a Master’s degree from an accredited institution; experience managing programs for gifted students or general student populations; experience in program administration and financial management; knowledge of educational, career, and personal needs of gifted students; ability to develop, plan, organize and implement youth programs committed to academic excellence; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work with junior high and high school aged students; and past supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred qualifications include two or more years coordinating summer residential programs for gifted junior high and high school aged students; experience in marketing academic programs for gifted students; grant writing experience; familiarity with the University of Arkansas, the state of Arkansas, and the University of Arkansas’ Honors College.
