Department: Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness

Minimum Requirements:
Candidates for this position should have a B.A. and M.S. degree in the areas of economics and public policy.

Specifically, candidates should have a knowledge of and experience in the following areas: experimental design, quantitative methods of economics related especially to financial management, simulation analysis, farm production management and post graduate work experience of at least 5 years. The candidate should show initiative in and be comfortable with decision making.

The candidate should have a working knowledge of the following software applications: Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access), Mississippi State Budget Generator software, IMPLAN, Internet Search (Internet Explorer), and simulation packages like (IBSAL, Extend, MARORA) and statistical software (SAS, EViews, STATA, SPSS).

Job Duties:
The primary responsibilities will be the identification and evaluation of best management practices and risk management strategies for individuals involved in agricultural production and agricultural business related to dedicated energy crops. The successful candidate will be responsible for program management and preparation of manuscripts and presentations.

Additionally the individual will be responsible for grant and proposal preparation. Excellent editing, grammar and writing skills are essential.
