Energy Conservation and Management Engineer

Annual Salary:
$45,000 - $55,000: depending on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum qualifications for the position are: the formal educational equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in mechanical or industrial engineering or related field. Also three years of progressively more responsible combined experience in the areas of energy conservation and management, HVAC design and controls, or other related areas. Applicable career experience and/or recognized professional training or certifications may substitute for formal educational requirements. Possession of or eligibility for registration as a professional engineer is desirable; applicant must possess a valid driver license.
Job Duties:
This position is a part of Utility Operations and Maintenance at the University of Arkansas, which manages a $12 million dollar annual utility budget. The Energy Engineer is responsible for conservation and management of the energy resources needed to operate the University. General responsibilities include development of programs and policies to reduce cost and increase energy efficiency, management of the utility information and accounting systems, and technical support for the Building Systems and Controls work group. In addition, the position will function as the key contact for campus energy services performance contract management and serve as member of the UA Sustainability Council’s Energy and Utility working group.
