The College: The College of Education and Health Professions offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate level with more than 3,600 students pursuing coursework both on-campus and off-campus. The College is comprised of academic units based in six buildings on the Fayetteville campus. More than 200 faculty and staff are helping the College achieve its three broad strategic goals: excellence in teaching, research and service; growth in enrollment and increased diversity; and increased public and private support.
The Early Care and Education Projects Office: Projects in conjunction with the Division of Child Care Early Childhood Education provides 12 statewide training programs for early educators. The goal of ECEP is to provide professional development to improve the quality of care and education for young children throughout Arkansas. The staff under the leadership of Dr. Bobbie Biggs strives to provide the most up-to-date training possible to early educators. More than 300 trainers around the state deliver courses in a variety of locations including child care centers, public schools, vocational centers, technical institutes, community colleges and other postsecondary education facilities.
Description:
The Early Care and Education Projects Office (ECEP) in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville invites nominations and applications for the position of Financial Coordinator (project/program specialist). This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track provisional position. Continuation of this position is contingent upon grant funding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual selected for this position will assist the Director and Assistant Director with special projects. This position will be responsible for the following: (1) format, key, proofread and produce camera-ready curriculum and supporting materials for ECEP training purposes; (2) create children's materials along with instructions for workshop participants and prepare registration materials for workshop participants; (3) provide technical support and assistance to ECEP staff and trainers in the field and prepare electronic media forms and trainer information; (4) serve as the web master for the ECEP, update the web using Reddot Content Management System; (5) attend and participate in professional development activities, university procedure meetings, vendor training and other related conferences and travel on behalf of the ECEP Office as required by the Director and Assistant Director.
Minimum Requirements:
The individuals selected for these positions will be expected to possess the following required qualifications:
1. An earned bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized institution or the equivalent in education and professional work experience;
2. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in technology related to preschool educational materials in a college or university setting;
3. Demonstrated experience of a minimum of three (3) years working in the field of web design in a college or university setting, particularly using the Reddot Content Management System;
4. Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite 4, WordPerfect Office X4, Microsoft Office 2007 and Reale Writer Pro applications;
5. Demonstrated evidence of effective written and oral communication skills; and
6. Excellent organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:
1. Five (5) or more years of demonstrated experience in maintaining databases, spreadsheets and word processing;
2. Demonstrated troubleshooting expertise, professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees;
3. Demonstrated mastery of Variquest PosterMaker 3600, Variquest Profinish Laminator, Variquest Electronic DieCut 1800 and Graphics Tablet.
