Requirements (Degree/Experience):
Ph.D. or a relevant post-baccalaureate degree (such as an MA/MS/MFA/MBA) with substantial professional experience in broadcast news reporting and/or producing.
Responsibilities:
The Radio-TV-Film Area of the Department of Communication at University of Wisconsin Oshkosh seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Broadcast Journalism who understands multi platform storytelling. Primary responsibilities include: teaching a mix of lower and upper level courses in broadcast journalism as well as other foundation courses in the department as qualified; advising majors; conducting research and service activities; and developing a news curriculum that addresses the role of new media in contemporary news practice.
Preferences:
Evidence of teaching effectiveness is desirable, as is professional experience at the national level for non-Ph.D. candidates. Candidates with an interest or experience in online journalism are especially encouraged to apply.
