Program Manager, Project Success - 116b.1213 Department Project Success Responsibilities This position is responsible for key administrative and academic functions for a program increasing college success and retention for students with language-based learning disabilities. Responsibilities include administering standardized measures of testing to screen students referred to the program, providing student support services, organizing and supervising student employees. Other responsibilities include planning and teaching material for the Summer Program Transition course. Requirements Candidates should present evidence of: a Bachelor`s degree in Special Education or related field; strong verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of and experience working with individuals with learning disabilities; and knowledge of and strategies for the transition issues individuals with learning disabilities encounter in postsecondary education. Additional requirements include: a basic understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and its Amendments and section 504 of the Rehabilitation act and its Amendments; teaching and lesson planning experience; supervisory experience of diverse populations; and experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, and researching tools. Preferences Candidates should present evidence of: knowledge and experience using standardized measures for learning disabilities; experience developing and working with college transition programs; knowledge of postsecondary general education curriculum; and knowledge of university academic policies. Additional preferences include: a clear understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act and its Amendments and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and its amendments; experience instructing using direct instruction techniques, and knowledge of multisensory phonics.
